Every Sunday
You start putting on your suit. "Man, I hate wearing a tie", you think to yourself. You'd rather wear the bolo tie you bought down the street last week but you know it will just be a way for some well meaning member to start a converstation with you. It's not that you don't like people, you just dont like strangers talking to you out of some weird cultural obligation veiled as religion. You throw your tie on the floor and put on the bolo to spite both the imaginary member and yourself. Once you get to church you regret your decision immediatly. The Bishop ropes you into a conversation that starts with him asking about your "unique tie," and ends with him asing about your testimony. You tell him you're doing great, but you know that you're lying. He seems to be able to tell and asks if you'd like to meet after church.\n \n[["yeah that would be good"|Sacrament]]\n[["I think I'm Okay thanks though"|Home]]
You try to enjoy the meeting but all you can think about is your meeting with the Bishop. You know that you have had somethings you have wanted to get off your chest for a while now. The only thing keeping you from going in is your fear of losing your endorsment for school. You know that you haven't done anything that bad, but you still have fear in the back of your mind. Every Bishop is different, and try as you might to trust in their calling you know thier still human. For all you know he still thinks caffeine is against the word of wisdom. You still believe in the church, you're just so fed up with the culture in this bubble that you've had it.\n\n[[get up after the nest speaker and go home|Home]]\n[[calm yourself down and stay|Bishop]]
You wake up to another painful day. You walk out of your shared dorm room at Glenwood and grunt a "hello" to one of your roomates as he brushes his teeth to MOTAB. "You comin' to church?" he asks. You can tell he is only asking because he thinks you aren't planning on it. He never asks any one else. You know he means well but it still pisses you off. It would be a lot easier to go if you didn't feel like a weird guest everytime. It's not like you didn't go two weeks ago. You've just been busy. It would be a lot easier if you had as much free time as every one else. \nHe asks you again as you realize you have been staring at him blankly. \n\n[["Yeah I'm going"|Church]]\n[["I'd like to but I have too much going on|Stay home]]

You jump onto your bed and watch TV. You watch for about four hours hardly noticing when people get home from church. You hang out with them later that night, but you're not really engaged with the dumb Settlers game they are playing. That night you get down on your knees to pray. You love the church and you know it's true. You know you're so close to being where you want to be, but the pressures of the culture make you hate where you are. If you didn't like who you were so much you might even admit the culture makes you hate who you are. As you get into bed tears fill your eyes, and you wisper the same promise you make every week. \n\n"I'll go next week."
You jump on your bed ready to binge watch season two of RedDevil when your roomate comes in. He starts to talk to you about how he has been worried about you and how you have always been such a good example to him. You're equal parts touched and super pissed. You tell him you're fine and that there is nothing to worry about. He asks if you want to meet with the Bishop. He is the secretary after all. You avoid the question by asking about what shirt he plans to wear to church. He asks again. He says you don't even have to go to church, that he can schedule it for after. You have been thinking about going anyway...\n\n[[decide you might as well go to church if your going to meet with the Bishop|Sacrament]]\n[[say yes to meeting with the Bishop but stay home from church|Bishop]]\n[[reassure your roomate that your fine, stay home|Home]]
You sit outside the bishop's office wating for you meeting. You look at your watch, five mintues and you're up. You start to think about your frind Lee. He almost lost his endorsment a few months ago. Granted he was a little worse off than you. Then again, if he had lost his endorment he would have been sent back to Korea. He is here tempraraly as a student. If he had gone back he would have had to join the military. All this and his Bishop almost didn't care. It didnt matter he was trying to do the right thing. That he had faith and was willing to risk it all to be able to repent. In the end the quick marrige plans helped to kill two birds with one stone. He could stay in the country and his bishop was appeased. Panic hits you. Your palms sweat. You bolt upright out of your chair. \n\nSit back down.\n[[Get in your car. drive home.|Home]]
